Nabil- Music Video Director

With the time and the love of music, it is hard to avoid the work of half american, half Iranian, Australian music video Director Nabil Elderkin. It is at 17 when his parents separated that Nabil, joined his mother in Chicago and photography spending most of his time at music venues taking shots of Chicago based DJ’s and bands. After hearing his mixtape of at the time relatively known artist Kanye West, he tried to contact the rapper by looking up The website came up as unregistered but available for registration, so he bought the domain name on an impulse. Three weeks later an executive from Roc-A-Fella Records contacted Elderkin to tell him the label had just signed Kanye West to a multi-album deal and wanted to know how much he was asking for the domain name. Without a monetary transaction Elderkin agreed to transfer the domain name provided he could meet the new artist and do a photoshoot with him, these images went on to be the artists first publicity photos.

Because it is not only about luck, Nabil has a real talent and vision when it comes to music video and photos. Besides his award winning documentary film Bouncing Cats about a breakdance workshop for teaching b-boy culture to Ugandan disenfranchised youth, Nabil has done a few amazing videos you might all have seen, and I thought I could be the time to take a break and share you the fact that it is the same man behind all thoses videos…
