Do you know the way to San Jose ?

After touring as an arranger for Marlene Dietrish, arranger and songwriter  Burt Bacharach meets lyricist Hal David in New York City in 1957. Together they are going to write more than 100 songs, become part of  the u.s.a. cultural history,  meet  a few gifted singers, and some amazing one. Among those was New Jersey born and raised,  Dionne Warwick. Daughter the  renowned  family Gospel Group The Drinkard Singers ( like her cousin Withney Houston), Dionne Warwick had everything including the talent to become a professionnal singer, and she did. After singing as background for bands such as the Drifter , of  Ben. E. King of Salomon Burk as part of The Gosperlaire, it is with Burt Bacharach and Hal David that she did her solo debut in 1962

In less than a dedace Dionne Warwick became an internationally renowned singer, today ranking among the 40 biggest hit makers of the entire rock era (1955–1999). Among those hits, from the 1968 album Dionne Warwick in the Valley of the Dolls, the song Do you know the way to San Jose ? The unbearable lightness of the voice, the music and the lyrics, offer a quality impossible to find in todays top billboard.
